Srinagar, Jan 12 (KNO): In a debut at the Khelo India Asmita Cycling League, Jammu and Kashmir's women cycling team from Baramulla district lit up the national stage with their remarkable performances. As per the details obtained by the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Ulfat Mushtaq of Rafiabad Sopore led the charge, with her 10th place in the gruelling 30 km time trial and followed it with an 11th place finish in the 60 km mass start. Similarly, Mehak Mushtaq of Palhallan Pattan, while showing incredible grit, secured 12th in the 30 km time trial. Energetic Mehak battled back from a crash to claim 13th in a 60 km mass start. Among the junior athletes, Sofia Hilal and Sobiya Manzoor — both hailing from Sopore with their impressive performance, clinched 7th and 8th positions respectively, while Hoor-i-Ein Lone of Tujjer Sopore rounded out the proud contingent with a solid 16th place. The maiden participation of the young athletes from Jammu and Kashmir in the league held at Kurukshetra, Haryana, was historic, filling the entire region with pride. Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council (JKSC) congratulated the athletes, wishing them continued success and more history-making moments ahead—(KNO)
